Gum Disease Treatment
A clinical examination, involving the use of perio-probes, will be performed to inspect the gum tissue. A radiographic examination (X-rays) can be carried out to determine the amount of bone loss around the teeth.
Non-Surgical Removal of Plaque and Calculus
Plaque and calculus are the main causes of periodontitis, more commonly known as gum disease. Through the use of ultrasonic scalers and hand instruments, we are able to remove the plaque and calculus from below the gumline, arresting inflammation of the gum tissues at its root. This will be followed by a program of the close monitoring of oral hygiene.
When non-surgical therapy is insufficient, a more invasive approach will be adopted to arrest bone loss and to regenerate lost bone.
